Subject: Thank You

Sweet Jodie
Many thanks and blessings to you for your kind mail. Never ever be worried or ashamed of sharing the trauma that happened to you dear girl. Someone, somewhere will read your account of your suffering and gain hope that there is light to be found if they stay strong and brave, as you did. They say that a trouble shared is a trouble halved and I am sure that those who read your story will come away thankful that they have not had to face in this life what you did ..... and if they have, that there is hope that life will get better if you strive for that as you did. I am a community development worker and I work with many women who are in dangerous and unhappy conditions and if you will not mind I would like to print off your story to highlight at group meetings as many of them believe that no one suffers as they do ... which is a basic human reaction when one has their back to the wall ....... I feel that after hearing your story they may really want to seek to change things, with help and support, as you did.
Your capacity to forgive is truly humbling and to know that you have now got beside you such a loving man to walk the rest of lifes journey with you is heartwarming indeed. I pray that your footsteps will always walk in the sunlight and that rainbows will touch your life with colour and beauty always. Can you let me know if I have your permission to share your story with women here in the UK ? Many do not have computers and it would be sad if they could not gain inspiration from your experiences because of that. Thank you once again for sharing.
Be well and happy
Barbara

Hello My Friend,
First of all thank you so much again for your kind words. Sharing my story is what it is all about. It is the reason for making it available for others to read. I would be honored if you would like to share my story with the women you are indeed reaching out to help.
Please keep in touch when you have time. And let me know if it inspired anyone to reach out and let God show them the way? When in pain it is so easy not to believe at all in anyone especially God. You can't help but think if he is there and good. Then why is he not helping me with the pain I'm in? Learn to be encouraged that in God's time you will see the dreams and visions fulfilled that God has given you. Don't ever give up. Where God guides, He provides. Just remember that whatever your present situation is in life, whatever you have to do, wherever you have to go to heal. Take the journey and don't waste one day of the precious life God has give you. The path to heal will be opened up for you to follow.
God Bless You Barbara for reaching out with love and understanding to others.
Your Friend,
Jodie

Subject: A Christian is like a Pumpkin

Jody...

As you know I don't respond to all the emails that you send me. It's not that I don't appreciate hearing from you or receiving what you send. Of course some things are of greater importance than others and one of the more important emails was the one about the Pumpkin.

Yesterday I was visiting a lady who has only days --- if not hours --- left in this life. As I was praying and talking with her....(she can only say a faint phrase at a time in response)...I shared with her the story that I intend to tell the children in church this coming Sunday (as it follows Halloween)....about the Christian being like a Pumpkin.

As I told her the story her family....husband, daughter and two sons were in the room with us. I concluded by reminding her that she was like the pumpkin. God had washed her all clean, taken away all the yucky stuff --- seeds of doubt, hate, greed, all the negative things --- from inside her and had placed a smile on her face and a light within her that had shone all through her life and touched so many many people with light and warmth. That was why she had those around her today, her family and friends who cared.

She was so overcome with emotion that tears flowed down her cheeks, she placed her feeble hand over her mouth. Her son said --- "What a wonderful tribute to you Mom". As I was leaving, her eldest son said to me, "I would like you to tell that story again in a weeks time" (meaning of course at her funeral).

Thank you Jody for helping me minister to this elderly lady during the final stages of her life on earth.

Hi Rev.

I really don't know what I did. But after all you have done for me. By always being there to listen and not judge me. By caring and being my true friend. What ever little thing I can do for you especially or something to help others. I indeed want to be able to do it. I will say a prayer for that dear lady today. Please tell her a stranger is praying for her.

Thank You,
Jodie

Subject: This is (a personal note from my heart-----)

If we are going to reach our potential, we must stay strong in our faith with patience and persevering. So many times I have been asked; Evelyn why do you keep doing what you do? It's not easy, but the word QUIT is not in the Bible. Therefore we must strive to keep on keeping on.

I will tell you a part of one of my recent experience's. This lady cried out to me to help heal the pain and hurt she felt within her. It's a long story, but just the That I took to listen, I could in her eyes that he began to relax. She felt that only was she put out on her own with three children. She also felt that her entire family had turned against. In three short weeks after getting her in a safe shelter, she reunited with her family. The Mother & Father all the siblings, even her ninety year old Grandmother attended church on Sunday and after church went out to eat. After eating went to a park and spent quality time together. The family has come together buying furnishings and she will be in her new place any day now. When this lady walked up to me and give me a hug, I knew without a doubt why God led me down this path. When she so proudly showed me the pictures from the family gathering. That was the icing on the cake. God does work in mysterious ways his miracles to perform. I went to bed night before last feeling a bit blue, which is rare for me. Yesterday Morning I received a phone. A friend and Prayer warrior of mine went into the McDonald's here in the Walmart Super Center for breakfast. When he got home he called to tell me that the manager of Mc,Donald's wanted me to call her and he felt I could help here.

I called her never suspecting that she wanted me to do a book signing 11/20/2003 from 11 until 2. Mc'Donald's is doing a benefit for the Ronald Mc'Donald house.

This could have only happened through the support of every one of you that is on my mailing list. Plus all the time you my friends has spent writing to book stores, signing my guest book. My dear friend's we serve an awesome God. All this is coming full circle because of your prayers and many others.

I been told the hardest thing a person can do is get published. It took me ten years from the time I started writing. This morning I were thinking about the movie of Margaret Mitchell and what she went through to write gone with the wind. We never stop believing and most of all we never quit. Winners never Quit and Quitter's never win. I know some of you are in the area, if you stop by Super Center while I am there, would be great.

Keep me reverently in your prayers that I can keep on reaching those that is hurting and give the feeling is that someone really care. Because I do care. I have walked in the same shoes for many years. Only through God can we survive.

Evelyn ( I hope you keep reading---

NEVER TOO OLD

"So here I [Caleb] am today, eighty-five years old! I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out; I'm just as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was then. 12 Now give me this hill country that the LORD promised me that day. You yourself heard then that the Anakites were there and their cities were large and fortified, but, the LORD helping me, I will drive them out just as he said" (Joshua 14:10-12, NIV).

Emerson produced English Traits when he was 53 and Conduct of Life at 59.

Kent wrote his Anthropology, Metaphysics of Ethics, and Strife of the Faculties. at age 74.

Oliver Wendell Holmes at 79 wrote Over the Teacups.

Victor Hugo wrote Les Miserables at 62.

Booth Tarkington wrote sixteen novels after age 60, some of them when he was totally blind.

George Bernard Shaw wrote some of his famous plays at 80.

Scott the commentator began study of Hebrew at 87.

Jules Verne was writing his stories at 63.

Croce the Italian philosopher published two of his works on philosophy at age 85.

Santayana, the great Harvard philosopher, continued to write books at 88 years of age.

Tennyson at 83 wrote "Crossing the Bar."

And Webster wrote his monumental dictionary at 70.¹

In God's economy we are never too old to serve God and to be a part of God's plans and what he is doing in the world today... even if we are sick and infirm, we can still be mighty prayer warriors. All we need to do is make ourselves available.

Suggested prayer: "Dear God, thank you that in the work of your Kingdom on earth I will never be too old to serve you. Please let me know what my 'marching orders' are for today--and for every day for the rest of my life. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer and for using me. Gratefully, in Jesus' name, amen."

Good Morning;
All of you that has supported me these past years, as well as the ones that haven't. I want to fill you in about my book signing at the Walmart Super Center here in Mountain Home, AR.
Mountain Home, AR. has three radio stations here and all three were broadcasting my being at the Super Center. I am very grateful to them. There has been so many people that has stepped up and has given me a hand up. Many more that I can name here. But, every one of you no who you are. I want you to know how grateful I am to each of you. I am considering writing another book about the love and support I have been shown. The problem with writing these days is the need of good editors. Professional editors are few and far apart. We will see what the future holds.
My book signing went well. My book is now in the Walmart computers.
The next step is to get them on the book shelves. That takes people calling and asking for a copy of Totally Discombobulated.
I had hoped and prayed that the stores would have them in the store before Christmas. For an unknown to get published is a one step at a time process. We tend to think all we have to do is write a book an instantly it's on the best seller list. That's because we don't usually here about a book until it becomes a success.
All of you that has survived abuse as well as the loved ones that you know is trapped in an abusive violet situation. You can help them by giving them a copy of Totally Discombobulated for Christmas.
In the beginning I thought if I could help just one from going though the abuse I suffered, then it would definitely be worth my time. From the many letters I have received already, my story has already help many.
If we don't do something to break this chain of violence, it will keep multiplying. Don't think it is getting better. So help me spread the good news if you will, because this don't just happen to someone else. It can happen to anyone and everyone. The next one could be your mother, father, sister, brother, child, grandchild.
Together we can make a difference. It don't take a lot of time to call Walmart and ask for the book. By calling Walmart and asking for it they will take it out of the computer and put it on there shelves. Together we can save lives. There are two many Laci Peterson's stores out there.
With 2800 stores, I am told by this manager that each store stocks five copies. That will put me on the best seller list. Once on the best seller list, it will get publicity and we can let the entire world know how we feel about violent abuse.
God loves you, I do too.
Please pass this news letter on your mailing list. God loves you, I do too. Together the abusers cannot stop us. With a heart full of love, God loves you and I do too.

I am now in Heaven,
The gates have opened wide,
And now I have the privilege
Of walking by His side.

The angel choir is singing,
And the music is so sweet;
I'll join them just as soon as
I have worshiped at His feet.

I am now in Heaven,
The blood washed throng is here.
I recognize a lot of them,
There's not a single tear.

There's joy beyond description
And reunions by the score;
There'll be no separations,
For we'll be here ever more.

I am now in Heaven,
Please wipe away your tears.
I've fought the battle, run the race,
I'm rid of all my fears.

There is no pain or sorrow here,
The heartaches now are past;
I've read and sung of Heaven,
And now I'm here at last!

I am now in Heaven,
And Oh, the Place is grand!
No one could ever tell me
All the beauties of this land.

Since I cannot describe it,
You'll have to come and see
That it was worth the trials
To live here eternally!

Can you hear me?
Are you listenin' any more?
Hello, God, if we're still on speakin' terms,
Can you help me like before?.
I have questioned your existence,
My resistance leaves me cold.
Can you help me go the distance?
Hello, God. Hello, hello.
This old world has gone to pieces,
Can we fix it? Is there time?
Hate and violence just increases,
We're so selfish, cruel and blind.
We fight and kill each other,
In your name, defending you.
Do you love some more than others?
We're so lost and confused.
Hello, God, are you out there?
Can you hear us?
Are you listenin' any more?
Hello, God, if we're still on speakin' terms,
Can you help us like before?.
Oh, the free will you have given,
We have made a mockery of.
This is no way to be livin'.
We're in great need of your love.
Hello, God. (Hello, hello.)Hello,
God, can you grant us,
Love enough to make amends?
(Hello, God.)
Is there still a chance,
That we could start again?
Hello, God, we've learned our lesson.
Dear God, don't let us go.
(Hello, Hello.)
More than ever,
Hello, God. Hello, hello. Hello,
God, we really need you,
We can't make it without you.
(Hello, God.)
We beseech you,
In the name of all that's true.
Hello God, please forgive us,
For we know not what we do.Hello,
God, give us one more chance,
To prove ourselves to you.
Hello, God, (Hello, God.)
Hello, God.

Hello God is a beautiful beautiful description of life and the love of all humanity. Dolly Parton is a wonderful songwriter and poet and the song is breathtaking. Your words offer what we all want most in the world, peace, love and understanding. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for offering us such a beautiful description of "love" ... you truly are an Angel and I love you.

Turmoil can be seen and felt through the world
No one knows what tomorrow will bring
Will the flags of war and destruction be unfurled
Or will peace grow with the flowers of spring
We humbly come to you on bended knee
Pressed with thoughts and wishes for all
Our sad journey to you is with our hopeful plea
The great task we ask of you is not small
Gather and join together the thoughts of men
Calm their inner fears and darkening thoughts
Bring common sense and fairness to them again
Stay them from launching the dreadnoughts
Help us all to join, heart to heart, to keep the peace
With genuine and golden love in our hearts
That we may all sit and partake of a golden fleece
Guided by your hand as master of all the arts

Dear Jodie:
I hope and pray that you are feeling better. Since your Mother don't care to except you, just remember what goes around, comes around, every time. Rest assured no Mother ever mistreats their child and gets through this world without suffering the consequences. If you don't believe me visit a hospital or nursing home talk to a few old people. They will tell you, my children never comes to visit me. DUH! Can't imagine why. Makes me think where they were when that child needed them. Maybe not every case. But you can bet it's true in many cases.
The Bible tells us that what we sow, we shall reap in abundance. So one day there will be a great harvest. She refuse to except you here, one day when she is in a nursing home or bed ridden, she will beg you to come take care of her. I known and seen it happen in families. I'm sure you have heard this before. If not, I'm quite sure you will in time.

Take care stay safe. Please know I am here if you ever need me.

Dear Evelyn,
It is so new to me how you can met strangers that actually understand and care about you. Here I have family that if I don't keep quiet and continual to live by their rules I'm nothing. But unfortunately my dad taught me to use my own mind in desiding right from wrong. And what they have done and are still trying to do to me is so unfair. But I will walk tall till the very end even if inside the pain is sometimes unbearable. Because I know I'm not walking alone.
I thank you my dear friend for your continued support towards me.

God bless the angel you are.
Jodie.

They want screen plays? It want hurt to send one. You will get exposure and you message out to at least one more. My agent don't have my screen play ready. Or want have it ready by Jan. 31st. She has decided get the audio out first. She says producer's buy more screen plays and these days they read so much, they welcome the audio version to listen to.
It pays to get it out any way you can. Don't be afraid of rejection, because rejection happens to all of us. I still think I can get Esther to use your story in her book "Starting Over." It will probably be this summer before she gets to start that. I am hoping that once she uses part of your story she just might decide to write a screen play for you. This is my thinking. That is one way to get your story out. What a slow process this is to get any thing done. One baby step at a time. Let's just keep praying that God's will be done.
Every thing happens in God's time. His time is not the same as our time. The word Quit is not in the Bible. So we just keep on keeping on. One day it will all come full circle.

You take care, stay safe and have a very Merry Christmas and Holidays now and all through the New Year.

(((((((( Jodie )))))))) absolutely wonderful ! Resigning here to!! ... I want to do all those things .... plus have midnight feasts on the lawn with my friends while telling ghost stories and screaming for my mom because I got scared lol ... and I want to swing from the oak tree in our garden and imagine I am touching heaven with my feet ... and also to sit on the worktop in my mom's kitchen as she bakes a yummy triple choc cake lol. If only we could bring back days past when all was so mellow and families were all together. However, the goodness of God is that he gave us these memories before he called our loved ones home and he helps us to put the same in place for our kids to. Bright blessings dear friend and thank you for this oh so light moment of memories from the past. Love and hugs Barbara xx

A little boy was selling newspapers on the corner, where people were in and out of the cold. The little boy was so cold that he wasn't trying to sell many papers. He walked up to a policeman and said, "Mister, you wouldn't happen to know where a poor boy could find a warm place to sleep tonight would you? You see, I sleep in a box up around the corner there and down the alley and it's awful cold in there for tonight. Sure would be nice to have a warm place to stay."

The policeman looked down at the little boy and said, "you go down the street to that big white house and you knock on the door. When they come out the door you just say John 3:16, and they will let you in." So he did. He walked up the steps and knocked on the door, and a lady answered. He looked up and said, "John 3:16." The lady said, "Come on in, Son." She took him in and she sat him down in a split bottom rocker in front of a great big old fireplace, and she went off. The boy sat there for a while and thought to himself: John 3:16...I don't understand it, but it sure makes a cold boy warm.

Later she came back and asked him "Are you hungry?" He said, "Well, just a little. I haven't eaten in a couple of days, and I guess I could stand a little bit of food," The lady took him in the kitchen and sat him down to a table full of wonderful food. He ate and ate until he couldn't eat any more. Then he thought to himself: John 3:16...Boy, I sure don't understand it but it sure makes a hungry boy full.

She took him upstairs to a bathroom to a huge bathtub filled with warm water, and he sat there and soaked for a while. As he soaked, he thought to himself: John 3:16... I sure don't understand it, but it sure makes a dirty boy clean. You know, I've not had a bath, a real bath, in my whole life. The only bath I ever had was when I stood in front of that big old fire hydrant as they flushed it out.The lady came in and got him. She took him to a room, tucked him into a big old feather bed, pulled the covers up around his neck, kissed him goodnight and turned out the lights. As he lay in the darkness and looked out the window at the snow coming down on that cold night, he thought to himself: John 3:16...I don't understand it but it sure makes a tired boy rested.

The next morning the lady came back up and took him down again to that same big table full of food. After he ate, she took him back to that same big old split bottom rocker in front of the fireplace and picked up a big old Bible. She sat down in front of him and looked into his young face. "Do you understand John 3:16?" she asked gently. He replied, "No, Ma'am, I don't. The first time I ever heard it was last night when the policeman told me to use it," She opened the Bible to John 3:16 and began to explain to him about Jesus. Right there, in front of that big old fireplace, he gave his heart and life to Jesus. He sat there and thought: John 3:16....don't understand it, but it sure makes a lost boy feel safe. You know, I have to confess I don't understand it either, how God was willing to send His Son to die for me, and how Jesus would agree to do such a thing. I don't understand the agony of the Father and every angel in heaven as they watched Jesus suffer and die. I don't understand the intense love for ME that kept Jesus on the cross till the end. I don't understand it, but it sure does make life worth living. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

If you aren't ashamed to do this, please follow the directions. Jesus said, "If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you before my Father." Pass this on only if you mean it.

I do Love God. He is my source of existence. He keeps me functioning each and every day. Phil 4:13 If you love God and are not ashamed of all the marvelous things he has done for you, send this on. Take 60 seconds & give this a shot! Let's just see if Satan stops this one. All you do is: Simply say a small prayer for the person who sent you this, "Father, God bless this person in whatever it is that You know he or she may be needing this day!"

Dear Jodie
Bless your heart deargirl and many thanks for your beautiful and caring mail to my sister Maria while I have been in hospital for my therapy. She was so moved by your story. I have your site bookmarked but for some reason I had overlooked showing it to her before. Forgive me for that please dear, I can only guess that my illness had dulled my memory a little as I have told you before that mostly everyone I work with in the community has a printed copy of your story as you have been a true inspiration to my work, bless your heart.

I am so sad to read that things in the family are still not good for you. You are such a loving soul and this is their loss, that you can still feel for them after all you have suffered is a credit to your ability to love them because of your huge heart that just wants everything to be right and good for all. You are so blessed, your spirit remains ever hopeful and willing to enfold them all in your heart despite everything. My prayers are that you will feel the love and care of close family bonds again but even if this does not happen I feel sure that you will always be there for anyone who needs you. I would feel very proud to have a daughter like you, I have two lovely girls who have remained close by my side their whole young lives and I know the pride I feel in their beautiful souls, so your mother is truly missing the bond of one so caring as you. I am always here if you need an ear to listen or a shoulder to lean on in times of mortal frailty, which heaven only knows you must feel at times. Could you thank Kim and Zee for their caring mails and give my many best wishes to all the group. I have to wait for 3 weeks before a bone biopsy will show if the experimental treatment I had worked, but I feel very positive as my heart has stayed stable throughout the last 2 treatments, which is amazing as far as the doctors were concerned. My sister has been like an earth angel and I am very blessed to have her, she has kept the whole family in positive mode, which has helped me no end. I have also been very humbled to know that so many have cared and sent mails. Maria has,nt been able to answer all as she works ten hours a day for the goverment but both she and I are so grateful to all.

Bless you dear Jodie, may angels wrap you and your dear husband and your darling babies in warmth, love and care always.

(((( hugs )))) Barbara xxx

Dear Jodie
For sure you can use my mail in any way you wish. I feel that others should know how your experiences and the way you have dealt with them has inspired 250 very disturbed ladies in my community. Some have even said that compared to what you went through, they are now able to feel that their troubles are few by comparison, so thank you dear girl from the bottom of my heart. God Bless and many bright blessings to you and yours and all in the group, to whom I send my many thanks for love and prayers sent my way.

((( hugs )))

Barbara x PS. please Jodie, do take some quality time out for you dear as it is easy to become overtired as you take on board others sufferings. I am sure everyone would agree with me on this as it would be awful if your health suffered from looking out to much for us and not giving yourself rest time with the family. Bright blessings xxx
