I just want to thank some very special friends who have been there for me.
Helping from the heart to try and make a very special dream happen. And others with the love/understanding and encouragement they continued to give me. But unfortunately the government has no money to assist. I was offered a position at a network to do a television show in regards to women. But the Rev. and I agreed that the ethics around doing the show was not something that either one of us could participate in. But I will always believe that dreams do come true. And so do second chances. So right now I spend at least 30 hours a week doing volunteer work to help not just women and children. But to help men understand what has happened and how it affects us. So one day maybe things will be better for all of us. I also assist women and their children in preparing legal documents and representing them in the courts.
The Rev. who has supported me through my journey and who
continues. Also to Dr. Mary former judge turned psychologist who has now retired but not until she kept her promise to me. That was not to leave until I was strong enough to face those who had abused me and stand on my own. A PROMISE she kept. And also to thank:
Lorraine (Spiritual Counselor)
Darryl Sittler who met with me and wanted to help. He put me in contact with the channels of support. But in order to achieve something like this it depends upon assistance also for the funding to keep it going.
Here is a Canadian who was such a big part of McDonald House for children years ago. Even then devoting his time to helping others in need. Darryl and his children have endured a great lose of their own. But he was still willing to do what ever he could to assist my dream. And for that I thank you Darryl. You and your family are always in my prayers.
I also want to thank CTV for interviewing me and doing my story and the Today Show in the USA. Plus the other celebrities that I met and were very interested in helping. But without the government involvement we could not continue.
Finally I want to thank my best friend and husband Bob. It was not always a joy for him. Living with someone who one day remembered her name and the next day forgetting. But with his love/ patience and understanding through all this he remained my best friend. He encouraged me to follow my dream and to support me on my journey. To that I’m truly grateful for God sending him to me.
I love and thank all of you for standing by me through this journey. And one day hopefully a home will be available for women & children who need to heal in safety.
This is Biscuit my friend Suzanne's baby. The wonderful person who made me the card above when my own baby Pumpkin died September 7 2003. She has also the cutest little baby to love and cherish. The thought of her to make me the card says it all.
